Senior Software Engineer

Summary:
Synteractive is seeking hands-on .NET developers with solid development and technical lead expertise in the delivery of Microsoft-based enterprise and cloud solutions for its customers.  These professionals will be working as members of small, distributed teams and be expected to deliver and support high quality solutions that demonstrate solid software design and development practices.  The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in the .NET Framework (2.0, 3.5, and 4.0) to include ASP.NET (ASP.NET MVC is a plus) and  have hands-on experience in the design and delivery of technical solutions using enterprise platforms such as SharePoint (2007 and/or 2010) or Dynamics CRM.  Experience in the delivery of cloud-based solutions leveraging Windows Azure and/or Amazon Web Services is also desired.  Being an efficient practitioner of the Scrum project methodology and/or being a certified ScrumMaster is a definite plus.
 
Responsibilities:
Senior Software Engineers will be responsible for mentoring more junior developers, performing code reviews, and be able to adequately execute full software development life cycle (SDLC) processes.  In addition, this individual will be expected to deliver efficient code as well as be able to perform impact analysis and work breakdown estimates of work required to deliver customer solutions. 
 
Qualifications:
  • Solid understanding and expert proficiency in .NET development
  • Expertise in delivering solutions on SharePoint and/or Dynamic CRM platform
  • Proficiency in writing strong unit tests and using unit testing frameworks
  • Understanding of UML and  the ability to develop/articulate UML models
  • Full comprehension of n-tier solution architectures
  • Understands SOA and service layer interactions
  • Experience working in small, fast-paced project environments
  • Strong work ethic is a must and must be a self-starter needing minimal direction
  • Possesses Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player attitude with a focus on the team
  • Must be able to work in a structured development environment and follow/define coding standards and design patterns
  • Solid experience with SQL Server technologies
  • Must live in or be willing to self-locate to the DC area

Cloud Engineer

This position involves working directly with software development and test teams at Microsoft, building the next generation of cloud based data tools using the OData standard.  Is Martin Fowler your hero?  Do inversion of control containers excite you?  Are you a member of alt.Net? Responsibilities:
  • Create technical architecture and requirement documents based on functional specifications
  • Be responsible for the overall SDLC
  • Write high quality code that is instrumented for automated testing
  • Design database schemas and indices
  • Perform code reviews and mentor developers
  • Research new technologies
  • Be a lead member of the team that interfaces with Microsoft
Strengths:
  • Strong understanding of and demonstrable experience with Agile development, specifically Scrum
  • Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft .Net development platform (C#, WinForms, WCF, ASP.Net, ASP.Net MVC, Visual Studio, SSMS)
  • Strong understanding of and experience with T-SQL
  • Knowledge of front end web development, especially using jQuery

Requirements:
  • 6 years+ professional work experience using C# and T-SQL
  • Experience with ASP.NET applications, both WebForm and MVC
  • Experience with IoC containers, testing frameworks, LINQ, and continuous integration
Nice to Haves:

  • Experience with TeamCity build server
